From Bowling Alley To Brewpub
Building Brentwood
Brentwood Bowl
For decades, Brentwood Bowl's 48 lanes were a gathering place for Springfield Township. The bowling alley closed during the pandemic, and the township wanted to keep that hub alive. This is the building we fell for.

Construction begins
Knocking down walls and building community. We started construction on our second location, in the former Brentwood Bowl in Finneytown, and got ready to join the Springfield Township neighborhoods.

Crews took the old bowling alley down to its slab and steel. Saving the building, instead of building new, was part of the plan from day one.
Floors set, walls rising
Major strides: the brewery floor was set, walls were rising and the brewery roof was being lifted.

Framing and a new brewery roof
Interior framing went up, the brewery roof was installed and the outdoor patio started to come to life.

Walls kept going up, the brewery space was prepped for tanks, the kitchen hoods and in-house smoker went in, and the parking lot was redesigned for more parking.

Finishing touches on the bar, ceilings and walls.

Every bar front is sustainably sourced. The food and coffee bar is tile reclaimed from another construction project, the main bar uses leftover materials from Silverton, the patio bar is wood from the crate that delivered our centrifuge, and the private event bar is made from bourbon barrels we once aged beer in.

Fermenters were craned out of Silverton and moved to Brentwood, kegs rolled in, the production brewery was finished, and the kitchen and dining room got ready for guests.
Grand opening
After more than a year of work, HighGrain Brentwood opened on Friday, May 3, 2024, with a ribbon cutting alongside Springfield Township leaders, a brand-new menu and a packed first weekend. Thank you, Springfield Township.
